Amir wants to tell with this response to us. He knows that, he is responsible for the day that Assef raped Hassan. Amir could stand up for Hassan and fought. But, that day, he was so scared to fight with him. So he cause that awful situation back in the day. He thinks that, he deserved all these. Because of what happened. Also he thinks that should had happened in that day. Assef deserved to be one eyed. Because of all of his bad actions and misbehaviour. He caused a lot of pain. Sohrab did what his father was going to do back in the day. I think both of them deserved it. Esspecially Assef. This is Amir's redemption. If he could be brave enough in the past.
