The beauty concept in west are based on athletic and glamour woman. Also self confidence is another factor. At western beauty, woman should have make up that shows here appearance more in front. Clothes shows their some specific body part. Thats about their self confidence. Mostly, we can see, it is all about appearance. Inner beauty is not really at foreground. This concept of western beauty based on clothes, make up, body. So standarts in Western or North American beauty is athletic body and appearance. But Isnt inner beauty not important, as well as appearance. Most important thing that people forget about beauty. Appearance means nothing with out inner beauty. A person can beautiful. But, If they dont have beauty inside, this shows that person more uglier than they are. I agree with your assessment of Western beauty, but how is this different than other cultures? It seems that each culture has its own standards of outward beauty that are very important.
